SF 49ers vs. St. Louis Rams 9/16/07

The game today goes to Frank Gore and his Mother....

I woke up to a foggy morning, and the Niners were playing away in St. Louis, MO. Because of the time difference the game started here on FOX channel 2 at 10am. I got the gym out of the way early and came home to make a brunch to eat while watching football!!!
Here is what we ate:

Eggs and Sausage Ingredients:
6 eggs (more if you are serving more people)
4 breakfast sausage links fully cooked (I like turkey ones) :)
1 medium yellow onion
1 red bell pepper
handful shredded cheese (I like cheddar) :)
1 tbl butter
salt & pepper

Heat a non-stick pan and add butter. Let it melt. Finely dice the onion and pepper and add to pan. Add a pinch of salt to draw out the moisture. Saute for about 5 minutes. Meanwhile, put links on a grill pan to heat through and make slightly crispy. Beat eggs all together in bowl and add pinch of salt and pepper. Remove links from grill pan and cut into pieces. Add eggs to pan and cook until almost done. Add the sausage pieces and cheese. Continue cooking until eggs are done. For those who enjoy ketchup, squirt in on top! You could add a slice of toast with jam...or something else. EAT! (I hope my cooking instructions make sense. I would love feedback on that!)

Smoothie Ingredients:
1 cup ice
2 bananas
1 peach diced
1 pack blueberries
1 cup lowfat berry yogurt
1 cup lowfat milk

Put the ice in the bottom of the blender and add the rest of the ingredients. Blend and enjoy. (Sounds so corny!) I find that Smoothie Recipes is a great site for smoothie makers!

So we enjoyed our food while we watched the game....

The Niners took on the St. Louis Rams in Missouri today. The Niners defense is looking really good this season! Despite a touchdown by the Rams in the first quarter, the Niners came back with the first touchdown by Frank Gore. Gore made another touchdown at the end of the game. These touchdowns were close to his heart today. His mother passed away four days ago, and I have to commend him for coming out and playing his hardest. It was a promise that he made to his mom. The Rams quarterback Marc Bulger got rocked by the Niners' defense, as he looked pained throughout the game. (He does throw some good passes though). In the end (to wrap up a short girl version of the game), the Niners win!!!! 49ers- 17, Rams- 16. Hooray!

Wow, 17 to 16? What a close game! I rarely watch sports, but close games like that are always cool :)

Thanks for posting the Smoothie recipe. A long time ago, I used to watch sports with friends or family, and my favorite part of that was always just sitting around eating stuff with people. There's something about eating chips and dip out of a giant plastic football container that is uniquely awesome (it kinda looked like this one). Haha.

I wonder if my grandma has a blender around. I'm sure she and I would both love to try it. Those dang smoothies cost so much money at the stores...

Think I'll stay away from the eggs and sausage dish, though. I hate most kinds of breakfast foods, eggs and sausage included. Ha! Whenever I eat breakfast foods, I feel like my heart is clogging up with pure death. Haha.

Wow, had to take the long way to get to your blog! Nothing like sitting down having some food and watching the Niners actually start winning! It's been a long wait for the NIners faithful. A win is a win no matter how ugly it looked (and its looking ugly). Hopefully they'll get it together soon! (or continue to get lucky). Now I want some eggs...

Hey,
Finally, another girl that is as crazy as I am about the Niners. I'm excited that the 49ers are at a great start, but I'm a little worried about this Sunday. It's going to be a tough game to watch. Oh well, faithful to the end. GO NINERS!

Sounds like a delicious game. : )

Recipe writing is really hard, isn't it? I think you did a good job. I was a little confused by "remove links" because it sounded like you meant remove them from the bowl of eggs. Maybe just say, "Chop links into pieces, add to eggs and scramble" or something simple like that?

Just a few bugs to fix in the post:

period between "moisture" and "Sauté"

"who enjoy ketchup, squirt it on top" (comma and change "in")

"put ice in bottom of blender" (not "on")

"rocked by the Niners' defense" (needs apostrophe)

Oops, also wanted to mention that your blog colors are pretty hard to read (on my computer, anyway). Don't know if anyone else has mentioned that, but it might discourage people from reading your posts!
